The Orpheum Theatre was constructed in 1928 right in downtown Memphis on the corner of South Main Street and Beale. The Orpheum Theatre in Memphis received a major $4.7 million dollar renovation in the 1980s. The Orpheum Theatre Memphis box office seats 2,500 for most events. The Orpheum Theatre's predecessor was burned to the ground in 1923 and was rebuilt in 1928.
